Blog #2: Unit 17 on Legislative Prayer

Today we look at two cases on legislative prayer, Marsh v. Chambers and Town of Greece v. Galloway. There are three ways to think about these decisions:

  • Marsh correct, Town of Greece correct => Town of Greece majority

  • Marsh correct, Town Greece incorrect => Kagan dissent in Town of Greece

  • Marsh incorrect, Town of Greece incorrect => Brennan

(Nobody thinks that Marsh is wrong but Town of Greece is right.)
